The Morse code signal for help, or SOS, is generally understood as "Save our Ship" or "Save our Souls." It is a call for immediate assistance during a critical situation or emergency. Therefore, we named our organization Ukraine-SOS (Україна-ЗНД).
Many in Ukraine have experienced such. Their houses have been destroyed by artillery or missile strikes. Schools, kindergartens, and hospitals have been attacked. This has caused millions of Ukrainians to flee their homes and seek safety elsewhere.
ABOUT US
We officially began our humanitarian volunteer efforts in 2022, when the war in Ukraine escalated and displaced millions of civilians.
It is at this pivotal time in Ukrainian history that UA-SOS began to lend a helping hand to refugees and to others seeking to save innocent lives and provide hope to a hurting people.
While food, clothes, and medicine may help solve the temporary need each feels, we also seek to assist in helping with the deeper and longer lasting needs - those of the eternal soul. We aim to see a people saved not only from the temporal dangers they face, but saved from the eternal torment that each lost soul faces without God.
OUR EFFORTS
Kids' Events
We have hosted multiple events for children including games, prizes, snacks, lessons, and more for free. Many children have been positively impacted by these activities.
Bible Education
Knowing what God says helps people make wise life choices and have certainty about eternity.
Spiritual Help
The spiritual condition of an individual plays a vital role on the physical well-being of a person.
Having love, peace, and hope is essential to every individual.
Work Program
We help refugees and the needy find employment. Many need money to help feed their families.
Humanitarian Aide
We fund and help deliver food, medicine, and other assistance to those affected by the war no matter what region of Ukraine they might be in.
English Lessons
Many view a knowledge of English as a door to future opportunity and we help provide that for free.
